Our Cupcake Charlie's franchise offers the establishment and operation of a gourmet cupcake bakery that provides fresh baked cupcakes and many other cupcake related treats in a fun, family-friendly, open kitchen environment. Recently voted "New England's Best Cupcakes" and eager to grow our name and reputation, we are committed to guiding you every step of the way. Our love for baking, pride in customer service, and time-tested expertise in the cupcake business has helped us create a unique, successful, and growing business that we hope you will want to become a part of!
The estimated minimum investment necessary to begin operations of your very own Cupcake Charlie’s franchise is $199,250. This fee includes our one-time Franchise fee of $35,000, leaving $164,250 for things like location build-out, equipment purchases, initial inventory, insurances, licenses, signage, grand opening marketing, delivery vehicle, etc. Please note that the initial investment can vary greatly based on a number of factors. These factors include whether you choose to pay deposits on certain items, or pay them in full, the condition of the space you lease, financing vs. purchasing your delivery vehicle, etc. We have estimated that the maximum investment could be up to $413,500. Your investment can be comprised of cash, loans, and/or lease programs.
The continuing services or “royalty fee,” is 5% of your gross sales and is paid weekly. This fee entitles you to use the “Cupcake Charlie’s®” branded and trademarked name and service marks, use of the distinctive systems, secret recipes and techniques, marketing, promotions and advertising assistance, ongoing business development and counseling, new product development, and all the other benefits that come with being part of our family as a Cupcake Charlie’s franchise owner.
You will not receive an exclusive territory. We will, however, grant you a territory known as an “area of primary responsibility”. This will be defined by zip codes or other physical, political, or natural boundaries. Our goal is your success, and with that said, your success is in the forefront of our decision making when assigning your area of responsibility.
We will offer continued training, support, and guidance in all of your marketing and advertising efforts. To ensure your success, advertising will be imperative. The Cupcake Charlie’s name and reputation is an important part of our business as well as your business. You will spend a minimum of $5,000 on grand-opening advertising during the first three months of operations. We also recommend that you spend at least 2% of your gross sales per month on local marketing & advertising. In addition, you will be part of our company-wide Marketing Fund, making a contribution of 1% of your weekly gross sales for company wide promotions and advertising.
The training program is comprehensive and covers all material aspects of the operation of a Cupcake Charlie’s franchise. We go over the day to day operations, staff management, baking and decorating, and everything in between. It is comprised of on-the-job training that takes place at one of our shops initially, and then continues at your shop once you are open. The cost of the actual training itself is part of your initial franchise fee, and the cost of lodging and meals (if required) are your responsibility.
The initial term of our Franchise Agreement is five years from the date the Franchise Agreement is signed. After the first 5 years, the franchise agreement is renewable for four successive terms of five years each, providing you have complied with the provisions of the Franchise Agreement.
